Br. ARMIN A. LUISTRO FSC - DepEd Secretary
To our dear
graduates, parents, school administrator, faculty and staff of Consolacion
National High School – Evening Class, my warmest and sincerest greetings on
this momentous occasion!
I am privileged to celebrate with you today’s commencement exercises which marks the culmination of years of hard work and study, planning and preparation, and investment in time and resources. This day is truly a significant milestone for every graduate, parent, administrator, faculty and staff, as it is for us in the Department of Education. And while we know that it does not end here – for most of you, this is only the beginning – it is only right that we take this opportunity to pause, take account of what we have accomplished, and issue a deep sigh of satisfaction and relief as we congratulate one another, before moving on to the next chapter of our lives.
This year’s theme, “Your Gift of Learning, Our Tool for Nation Building”, extends an appropriate invitation to each one of us. The gift of learning is a universal one offered to every stakeholder in the education sector.
To our dear graduates, remember that your newly harnessed values, knowledge and skills shall comprise the building blocks of our society. The choices you make the relationships you cultivate, the attitudes you bring to school and work, these erect the pillars and walls of our rising nation. How beautiful and strong you desire this building to be, depends a lot on you.
To our rightfully proud parents, administrators, faculty and staff, your own gifts to support and reform education are making it possible for us to hope for a better future. Yet, let us also remember that our actions and examples, more than our words, leave firmer imprints in the minds of the young. The integrity we bring into our homes and classrooms become the foundation of our own future. The justice, peace and prosperity we yearn for strongly depend on the truth and faithfulness we invest today.
We are all architects, engineers and builders working together in this colossal project we call our country, the Philippines. I hope and pray that over and above each of our personal dreams for ourselves comes the larger dream of a united, fulfilled and prosperous Filipino people, a dream that not only benefits a few, but one that benefits all.
Congratulations on your achievement! Celebrate it, cherish it, and let it inspire you to make your own contribution to the development of our nation.
Mabuhay kayong lahat!

Congratulations to all of you, our dear graduates, Class 2012! Celebrate your SUCCESS! Share it with your family and friends. Above it all, offer your SUCCESS to GOD!
. . . Take time to hold your diploma and look at it. That is your reward for all the hard work that you had put into your studies. More than that, it is a symbol of your determination to pursue your studies, courage to face academic challenges, and most important of all, your multiple intelligence that God has equipped you with.
I would like you to keep in mind that your graduation and your diploma simply mean that your best days are still ahead of you. There is so much more to learn about the world, about life, about yourself. You must carry on, continue your studies, and move on to the next level of the educational ladder, until you reach the goal that you have set for yourself.
I, therefore, encourage you to do your best and be the best of who you can be. Be somebody that your family can be proud of. Be somebody who is a worthy and productive citizen of our country. Strive always to do what is right, do what is good, and do what is pleasing before the eyes of GOD.
. . . To all the teachers and school officials . . . CONGRATULATIONS for another job well-done. Thank you for producing another batch of young graduates. They are the hopes of their families and the strength of our nation.
Happy Graduation Day! God bless everyone!

Another academic year has come to a close!
Though the school year 2011 - 2012 has been beset with enormous natural calamities, like the recent 6.9 magnitude earthquake, the Province of Cebu is so blessed for having been spared from all of these. Along with this gift of catastrophic survival, GOD has endowed the 2012 graduates of Cebu the rare gift of learning.
For this, my sincerest congratulations to you, graduates!
A few years back, you set foot on your educational journey. From then on, you were tracking down the path which led you to this very significant occasion, your Graduation Day. As you step off from your Alma Mater, which has equipped you with the necessary tools to cope with the challenges ahead, carry along with you the wisdom you acquired from your elders, specially from your teachers. By so doing, you will emerge successful in the grand ballroom of life, which awaits those who may have victoriously fought against all odds. Bear in mind that success is not a cheap commodity which can be had the easy way; for life is a battle of the good and the evil under the cloak of triumph and failure. In this exhilarating age of technology, temptations of all sorts go side by side - left and right. If you won't stay focused on your goal, you would likely end up a failure; but is it a thing to be feared of? -No, not at all, my dear graduates!
As Arriana Huffington (Greek American author and columnist) puts it, "Failure is not the opposite of success" but rather a stepping stone to it and that it is an essential part of any person's achievement. She further said that "the difference between success and failure is perseverance."
With this, you have gained the indispensable tools of learning to be of service to your countrymen. Let love take its reign; for service is love made visible!
Once again, congratulations and may God bless you all !

Dear Graduates,
My well - wishes for you, come with earnest hope and prayer that the nurture and admonition bestowed on you at home and in school have equipped you with the vision and virtues that will help you with greater tasks ahead.
Your graduation from high school certainly is a reason to celebrate, it is not the ultimate of your triumphs or accomplishments though. More significantly, your diploma should bring you to a profound awareness that there is a far immense ground for you to cover. You have huge responsibilities on your shoulders, the greatest of which is to maneuver society towards positive change.
It is not to say that you are the troubleshooters for its age-old ills. It simply means that however tiny an act is for you, it has a ripple effect on others. A good seed reaps a bounty for your community and country. On the contrary, a bad one begets disharmony and disparity. Let not your resolve for a better life be confined to yourself or your immediate family. Strive to make a difference on society as a whole.
Pursue your dreams. Cling on to courage and carry on with faith and perseverance. Despite the deafening pessimism around you, trust that however overpowering cowardice or frustration gets, everything will be within your reach in due time.
Abide in the lessons and wisdom of the past and never cease to learn. Most of all, decide to be happy and productive so that your fruits might multiply and benefit the greatest number. Congratulations and Godspeed!

Dear graduates,
Mabuhi !
Today you stand on the threshold of a new adventure. As we look back at our High School days, we feel awe at all that we have managed to accomplish and the valuable lessons we have learned together. The support we enjoyed from our classmates, our faculty, and most importantly, our parents and family, should inspire us to reach for our dreams with the utmost confidence that nothing is impossible with a faithful heart and a sturdy spirit.
The wise man Lao Tzu said that great trees grow from the smallest seeds. We must nurture these seeds and extend the opportunity for each one to reach full potential.
One's graduation day marks the culmination of a student's hard work, a teachers' patience and our parents' sacrifice. It is a great achievement that should be recognized as a legacy we carry with us as we move on to embark on new challenges. And as we go forward, let us bring with us the important lessons of life and a commitment to be the best we can be, not just for ourselves but also for our society.
I congratulate the {Consolacion National High School - Evening Class} Graduating Class of 2012. Your success is hard-earned and well-deserved. My best wishes for a bright future shared with the upliftment of our fellow Cebuanos and the Filipino Nation.
Well done dear graduates !
Daghang Salamat !

Valedictory Address:
Rowell N. Tagalog - Valedictorian, SY 2011 - 2012
To our distinguished guests, our Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Arden D. Monisit, our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Teresa P. Alegado, our beloved School Administrators , Madame Adelina P. Semblante and Mr. Raul A. Jumao-as, to the PTA President, Mrs. Josephine Plariza, our beloved faculty members, parents, fellow graduates, friends , ladies and gentlemen, a pleasant day to all of you….
It is indeed a remarkable moment that of this day we are now wearing a bright smile in our hearts as we take this last step in our high school life, but, not the end of our journey rather a new beginning of our new endeavors. My dear friends, though the time for us has come to leave the portals of Consolacion NHS, I am so grateful and privilege to speak in behalf of our batch. The batch 2012….
As I recalled what Mother Theresa said” Keep the lamp burning, keep putting oil on it” I remember those persons who served as our strength and inspiration during our weakness and difficulties. We were able to make them as our path to reach and conquer all the crossroads of our life. They are the one who molds us to become more privilege and responsible individuals. They are our guiding light that lights up the darkness in our way and leads us to the path of success. They taught us knowledge and skills and how to define life and determine our expectations and most of all they taught us the sound values that will guide us in our actions and in making wise decisions including that of choosing our vocation. My dear friends let us acknowledge and clap our hands to our parents, and also to our second parent, our teachers, who have been a part of this momentous day. The momentous time that no one can deny, the time when we step forward to face another challenge and that is the Graduation day.
Graduation is not the end but only a beginning in achieving our goals and dreams. Graduations allow us to dream more and aim higher aspirations in the future. And most of all Graduation is the realization of one’s dream to acquire education. You and I, as graduates have mixed emotions for this is really a significant occasion.
Four years ago, that we first set our feet into this school, we were full of dreams, hopes and aspirations and now it takes us to face our teachers saying “thank you and goodbye” because time flew so fast that we can now find ourselves wearing a toga, wearing a bright smile and shedding tears of happiness attending the GRADUATION day.
My dear friends, time really flies so fast but it is still fresh on my mind the things that happened to me last School Year 2010-2011 during my third year days. My parents were not able to escort me during the Recognition day because they were ashamed to face the crowd. They were only an elementary undergraduate, my father was only grade three and my mother was only grade one. But despite of their situation I am still very proud of them for taking care not only me but also to my 8 brothers and sisters. This year, this Graduation day, I am very much proud, inspired, and motivated because at last my mother is here attending my graduation. And in the front of many audiences, in front of many parents, I would like to inform you that though my mother only finished grade one But “ Iya gihapon gipakita namo kung unsa ka importante ang pag – eskwela eventhough my father does not want me to be what I am right now. She really takes care of us, She supported us in our studies, she monitor our behavior despite of her capabilities and most of all she loved us for the rest of her life. And for that “Nay, bisan wala nako mapakita ninyo kung unsa tamo kamahal, deep inside, I truly love you and I am really proud of you. Thank you so much for this wonderful life you give. “ Ang tanang nakong pagpaningkamot ihatag nako para maluwas ta mo gikan sa kalisod ug para makatabang pud ko sa uban nga nanginahanglan especially the less fortunate one.
My fellow graduates, it is not only my mother who shed tears of happiness when a momentous time like this come, even your parents feel the same thing. “Kung dili gani mo kakita nila nihilak, don’t get disappointed because deep inside they are truly proud of you and you cannot only see that happiness they felt today in their eyes but also in their hearts”. That’s why after this momentous occasion hug them and tell them…”Ma, Pa I love you so much and thank you for all your support….”
And now, allow me to thank all those who have served us not only my source but our source of strength and inspiration to conquer all the troublesome and difficulties in our life…
To the Almighty God for giving me wisdom and strength to defeat those challenges and trials.
To Consolacion NHS Administration for being so dedicated and so firm in giving us the kind of Education and the right and values that would be great help for us to encounter the prolonged journey of challenge.
To my family, thank you so much for everything, for your support, for your encouragement and most of all the trust that you had given to me.
To our Class Advisers, thank you so much for treating us like your true sons and daughters, and for your understanding and advices.
To our supportive Principal Mr. Raul A. Jumao-as, thank you for making me realize the essence of leadership. Thank you for always encouraging me to always go forward to reach the peak of my success.
To our teachers and dedicated faculty members, thank you for patiently teaching us, not only in academic knowledge but also and most especially the moral and spiritual values that we internalized in our innermost beings.
To my friends and classmates, thank you four knowing me more despite of my imperfections, living your life with me in such a loving way in knowing the real soul of me inside my shell and accepting me as a person….I also thank you for all the great memories; for all the laughter and tears that we have shared together. I will really miss you……..
To my closest friends who share their joyous and sometimes craziest moments with me. Thank you so much guys….even if saying this in front of you is very awkward but I can proudly say that with you I found true friend, with you I found my self…and most of all with you….my life complete. Thank you guys for making my life colorful, I will cherish everything we’ve shared for the rest of my life.
To my co-leagues…and fellow graduates this is just the starting point for us to encounter the prolonged journey of the challenge-full maze of life. Let us not be discouraged for what maybe happen in pain and in vain, but instead let us make it as an aspiration that whatever happened we can still accomplish it if we are to believe.
Fellow Graduates… Congratulations and God Bless!

Salutatory Address:
Richard O. Duaman - Salutatorian, SY 2011 - 2012
To our Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Arden D. Monisit, our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Teresa P. Alegado, Madame Adelina P. Semblante, Municipal Lead Principal, Mr. Raul A. Jumao-as, Principal III of Consolacion NHS – Evening Class; School Administrators, distinguished guests, friends, loving parents, fellow graduates, ladies and gentlemen, - a pleasant and glorious day to all.
Finally after all the projects, the sleepless nights, the cramming sessions, the missed deadlines, the countless examinations, fits of laughter, skipped classes, hard work, paper works and most importantly, the FUN we shared. High School is finally over.
That is why, we are all gathered here today for a very momentous occasion of every high school student, the graduation day, which is the height of our success, the product of our sweat and hard work.
It streams not from any other third party sources but it is an achievement that comes from within. It signifies maturity, the ability to cross multitudes of obstacles and reach a goal of unprecedented possibility. It is in this moment that we long, after all the tiresome journey of oppressive studies, a crossroad that marked a milestone of success –a milestone of immense growth and changes, an introduction to a broader arena of life, an arena with even bigger challenges to come and bigger ponds to conquer with bigger fishes to oppose.
This formal exercise is an offering to our families, especially to our parents who are here today to witness the fulfillment of the goals long since planned and invested in. It is through their love , support ,abiding sacrifice and guidance that we have successfully arrived at this point from which our future will about to begin. As much as the academic struggle has been ours, it is to them that we owe the necessities needed to fuel the quests for an education.
Graduation is the passage of time when we recognized and remember the dedication shown by our mentors in leading us to the mental and even practical requisites, so that we can carry ourselves through whatever path we choose to take. We have been given the essentials to venture out and explore the boundaries of knowledge, but the duty of making the most out of this is ours alone.
Because the knowledge embedded on us through the years in this institution, although inadequate in most aspects are enough to equip us with the most basic of weapons to enable us to fend for ourselves in our lives as teenagers and although it doesn’t necessarily change lives because theoretically, there are many more factors involved for changes and a single factor would never affect something without collaborating with other factors to produce dramatic results, but it is enough to give us something to work with, to prepare us in becoming pillars of tomorrow.
But of course, we must realize now, that this graduation day of ours, is nothing but a mere bump in the road. It is a simple pause, a reminder so to say in our pursuit for knowledge and self-empowerment, now is the time to think collectively-- and reflect of what we have achieved. Now is the time for bigger decisions and now is the time for independence- independence from self-imposed limitations and irrational fears that will surely pave the way for a straighter road amidst life's unpleasant turbulent and chaotic nature.
We have big plans and ambitious desires, we have to admit that. But don't think even for a moment that just because we have graduated today, we are already fully prepared. No!! My dear friends. As I said, this day is nothing but just a bump on the road, a simple reminder. Because the pursuit for knowledge is a lifelong process - a never ending pursuit of enlightenment. Do remember, that what we have acquired in our high school lives are nothing but basic necessities and it is up to us to improvise, to formulate our own strategic plans and to pursue even higher leanings.
Thus I dare you, my dear friends let us not stop gaining knowledge. If we have done all that we could in high school, let us further our study by putting even more effort into our own chosen paths. For our knowledge is yet to grow into true maturity.
More than all these, this important ritual is also for us a moment of thanksgiving to the Lord of all knowledge and Wisdom, our Almighty God, without those abiding presence for all human endeavors our journey in this path of life would be meaningless. Always bear in mind that what we are God’s gift to us, and what we become is our gift to God…
So to God be all the glory……….
As this ceremony progresses, tears will probably be shed for all the memories of the people and experiences gathered through the four, five or more years in high school . This event is also a proper occasion for us to recall those moments because we are about to leave our High School Life, and hopefully better and richer in person because of the people we journeyed with and the life -defining experiences we went through.
Rightfully so, this special occasion culminates our stay here in our beloved Alma mater. Hopefully ,all of us do have our reasons to celebrate and be thankful for a well- earned education because we have been enthused and motivated to be our better best not just for ourselves and our families ,but for the good of this society as well.
I know that after today, we take on different paths. Some of us may pursue further studies in college, others may apply for a job or better yet some might take over family businesses. But wherever our paths may lead us, hopefully, we get to live out the essential core values, our education has taught us .It is our Alma mater‘s great hope that we consistently be exemplars in embodying the best of its educational tradition.
And for us, the graduating class of 2012, today is the day of pride and honor .We have faced difficulties and have overcome them with grace and candor. We have proven to everyone, especially to ourselves, that we are more than capable, that we are deserving and that we are worthy to be here. So to each of the students of the graduating class of 2012, rejoice and be merry! This day is our day, we worked very hard for this, so let us all cherish this, enjoy this moment and let us welcome this with a smile on our faces, pride in our hearts and resilience in our souls.
Bit by bit, we do our part .Bit by bit we eventually achieve what we aimed for and ever be transformed by the process into becoming better human beings who will hopefully serve other human beings, driven by a transformative faith that transforms society. We, therefore celebrate in magnanimity what is rightfully the joy that is ours by graduating today.
Let us the graduating class, bask in this momentous gathering and let our parents and the whole Consolacion share in this jubilation.
So in the name of the graduating class batch S.Y 2011-2012 of the Consolacion National High School – EC it is with great honor and privilege to welcome everyone to this year`s Commencement Exercises. The journey has been fraught with a smattering of challenges but it has ultimately made the route to this day worth remembering and cherishing.
But for now, let us sit back, think and reflect. As we go on with our graduation rites today, it is time to gather all that we have learned and think about them. And celebrate for all our efforts in making it into this level. For surely, we would not have achieved a great feat such as this without the wits, the power, the strength, the brains and the dedication that would usher us into further development.
So for now, let us congratulate ourselves. And as we enter a bigger arena ahead, whether you choose to proceed to college or start building your own life right away, it's all the same and for all of us, I would like to say:
GOOD LUCK! ! GOOD LUCK! !
I hope our dreams will take us to the corners of our smiles, to the highest of our hopes, to the windows of our opportunities, and to the most special places of our heart has ever known.
Thank you so much!!!
And once again!! WELCOME and CONGRATULATIONS! !
